Fundraiser for the 9th Asian Conference of Arachnology in Laos

Help Empower the Next Generation of Spider Scientists in Asia!

We are raising funds to support a unique, inclusive, and low-budget scientific conference: the Asian Conference of Arachnology (ACA) 2025 Meeting, to be held from November 10–14, 2025, in Vang Vieng, Laos.
 
This conference will be different. Unlike traditional scientific meetings that charge high registration fees, ACA 2025 will be free of charge for participants, especially targeting early-career researchers, students, and young scientists from across Asia—many of whom would otherwise be unable to attend due to financial constraints.
 
 
Why It Matters
Asia is home to incredible arachnid biodiversity and a growing community of passionate and brilliant young minds. However, financial barriers often limit the participation of researchers from developing countries in international science. By removing these barriers, ACA 2025 will offer equal opportunities for learning, networking, and career development.
 
This conference aims to be a model for future scientific events in the Global South—showing that impactful academic exchange can happen without expensive venues or registration fees, using local resources and community-based planning.
 
Your donation will help us to:
  • Provide accommodation, meals, and travel support for selected young participants
  • Offer workshops and field trips led by experienced researchers
  • Create a space for collaboration and mentorship that extends beyond the conference
  • Document and share our approach so others can replicate it
