8th ASA Conference 2024 Wuhan, China

Hubei University, Wuhan, China

Welcome to the 8th Conference of the Asian Society of Arachnology (ASA 2024), which will be held on 25 – 29 October 2024 in Wuhan, the biggest city in central China, located on the shore of the Yangtze River. We are very excited to host ASA 2024 in ‘The Hub of China’. Wuhan is a famous national historical and cultural city in China. It is an important national industrial, science, technological and education base and the comprehensive transportation hub in China. We are delighted to invite you to Wuhan to share recent developments in all disciplines of arachnology in Asia.

ASA 2024 will feature a diverse selection of plenaries, symposiums, conference sessions and posters that span the entire range of arachnological research in Asia: behaviour, biogeography, ecology, evolution, neurobiology, physiology, systematics and many more.

Our plenary speakers will be Dr. Ingi Agnarsson (University of Iceland), Dr. Matjaz Kuntner (National Institute of Biology), Dr. Shuqiang Li (Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences), Dr. Linda Rayor (Cornell University), Dr. I-Min Tso (Tunghai University) and Elizabeth Jakob (University of Massachusetts Amherst).

The conference will be hosted by the Hubei University (http://www.hubu.edu.cn), a key comprehensive university jointly administered by Hubei Provincial Government and China’s Ministry of Education. With a history of over 90 years, it attracts more than 2,000 staff members and 25,000 full-time students.

We encourage participants from Asian and all other regions working on all disciplines of arachnology and arachnid taxa. We promise an inclusive and vibrant academic and social environment during the conference to allow for those important chats between delegates.
