Dear Colleagues,
The 7th Conference of the Asian Society of Arachnology (ASA) will be hosted by the Vietnam National Museum of Nature, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. On behalf of the Organizing Committee we are pleased to invite you and accompanying persons to participate in this prestigious annual conference to be held at the Cuc Phuong National Park, Ninh Binh province, Vietnam, on 17th – 22th October 2022.
The ASA conferences are annual meeting of Asian and international arachnologists who are working on Asian and other regional arachnids. We particularly welcome participation by students and academia members from all fields of arachnological research, such as taxonomy and systematics, evolutionary biology, behaviour, ecology, biogeography, physiology, developmental biology, molecular biology, conservation biology, and many others.
The 7th ASA Conference is an important milestone, on the occasion of 10th anniversary of the Asian Society of Arachnology, the International year of Basic Science for Sustainable Development 2022. This is not only a significant scientific event but also a good opportunity to connect arachnologists in Asia and all other continents in the world.

It is our great honour and pleasure to invite you to the sixth Asian Society of Arachnology (ASA) Conference and Meeting, which will be held in Kochi, the “Queen of the Arabian Sea.” The Asian Society of Arachnology’s 6th Conference and Meeting is being jointly organized by Sacred Heart College and Deva Matha College, The ASA conferences bring together Asian and worldwide arachnologists who study Asian and other regional arachnids on a yearly basis. We invite students and researchers from all fields of arachnological research to attend the ASA, which will take place from December 20–23, 2021

Welcome to 6th ASA 2020 at Kochi, India.

It is our great honour and pleasure to invite you to the sixth Asian Society of Arachnology (ASA) Conference and Meeting, which will be held in Kochi, the “Queen of the Arabian Sea.”

The Asian Society of Arachnology’s 6th Conference and Meeting is being jointly organised by Sacred Heart College and Deva Matha College, both of which are affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University in Kottayam.

The ASA conferences bring together Asian and worldwide arachnologists who study Asian and other regional arachnids on a yearly basis.

We invite students and researchers from all fields of arachnological research to attend the ASA, which will take place from December 20–23, 2021.

Venue

The conference will be held at Sacred Heart College in Kochi, Kerala. Sacred Heart College (https://www.shcollege.ac.in/) is an autonomous institution affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University in Kottayam. It was founded in 1944 and was accredited at the A level by the National Accreditation and Assessment Council. Dr PA Sebastian Centre for Arachnology Research in the college has an impressive collection of spider specimens of Western Ghats Biodiversity Hotspot.

 Registration:

The conference will be held in dual mode. The online participation fee is USD 30. The registration fee for physical participation in the four-day conference is USD 180. (20th to 23rd December 2021).

The registration cost will include the participation fee, conference kit, and lunch, coffee and dinner. You have to find suitable accommodation near SH College to attend this conference. Registration fees will increase to USD 50 and USD 200 respectively from October 31, 2021.

Submission of Papers

We invite participants to submit abstracts and full papers to us. Your abstracts and papers will be reviewed by the screening committee. Accepted abstracts and papers may be presented orally or in a poster session. The author should present the papers at the conference. The author should indicate whether they like to present their work orally or via poster. Abstracts must be submitted by November 15, 2021. Please send papers/abstracts to asa2020kochi@gmail.com.

 Mid-Conference Excursion

Mid-Conference Excursion to the Athirappally-Vazhachal-Malakkappara region of the Western Ghats is included. Due to the pandemic of Covid -19, this programme is subject to permission by the appropriate authorities at the time of the conference.
