Kelawakaju gen. nov., a new Asian lineage of marpissine jumping spiders

Kelawakaju gen. nov.

Two Singapore spiders named

Thanks to Wayne Maddison, Paul Ng, and their colleagues, two Singapore jumping spiders of the Subtribe Marpissina have been formally described and named: Kelawakaju singapura (upper, female), and Kelawakaju leucomelas (lower, female). The former has so far been found only in Singapore, the latter in Singapore and Malaysia (Johor). Both species were presented as undescribed Marpissina jumping spiders in the “Photographic Guide to Singapore Spiders” (pages 323 & 324), with these photos by Chris Ang.
